From Bihar’s Sporting Dreams to the Global Stage
It was my pleasure and honour to hand over, on behalf of the German Football Association (DFB), Germany’s National Team jersey to Smt. Shreyasi Singh, Bihar’s dynamic Minister for Industries and Sports.
It was truly inspiring to hear her vision for developing Bihar’s sporting ecosystem and creating stronger pathways for the state’s young sporting talent. Her own remarkable journey as a champion athlete—with a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in shooting—gives her a deep and profound understanding of the aspirations, challenges and needs of athletes.
Our discussion focused on creating a clear roadmap for Bihar’s sporting development, with emphasis on talent identification, scientific training, world-class infrastructure, coaching, technology and international exposure. We also discussed how these efforts can contribute to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision for India’s sporting excellence and the ambition of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games.
I firmly believe that Bihar has immense sporting talent. With the right ecosystem, opportunities and sustained support, the state’s young athletes can get the platform to showcase their abilities on the national and global stage.
My Commitment to Bihar
I remain personally committed to contributing to Bihar’s sporting journey—helping connect the state with international sporting institutions and expertise, strengthening grassroots talent identification, creating pathways for young athletes, and exploring meaningful cooperation in football and other sports.
Bihar has the talent to make its mark on the global sporting stage, and I am committed to being part of that transformative journey.
From the dreams of Bihar’s youth to the world’s greatest sporting arenas, let us build the pathways that turn talent into opportunity and dreams into achievement.
